Scorsese Unleashes The Wolf

If you've never ever heard of Jordan Belfort then you probably do not keep up with the New York Stock Exchange. Belfort who was born and raised in New York, was reported to be worth $250 million dollars at the tender age of 25 and his incredible company Stratton Oakmont was run like a boiler room.

For many of the 90s, Belfort ran his company like a cult, employing young brokers straight out of high institution. His devoted workers would make cold calls from his Long Island office, following a script that Belfort himself hand wrote.

It was one of the most notorious pump and dispose schemes of all time where trippy, young brokers high out of their minds, would persuade investors to buy stocks that were certain to turn big revenues ... for the firm that is. Basically, the brokers would drive up the stock's prices and then Belfort would offer the large majorities he and his partners regulated.

The motion picture 'The Wolf of Wall Street' is based on a book that Belfort wrote after he was launched from jail. Belfort confesses to sinking a 167 foot yacht which as soon as belonged to Coco Chanel. The fantastic book is currently a certified New York Times finest seller and the motion picture is sure to amass similar success as Scorsese groups up with Leonardo DiCaprio who will play Belfort.
